Connect a drive that has been formatted for Linux to your Windows PC and you won’t be able to access it and its contents. Not unless you have a specialized tool to help you out, anyway. One such tool is the DiskInternals-developed and aptly named Linux Reader. It can handle Ext2, Ext3, Ext4, HFS and ReiserFS file systems.

Linux Reader provides support for any Windows edition from Windows 95 onward. So as long as you have a computer that runs Microsoft’s Windows operating system, you’ll be able to use Linux Reader on that computer. Just download an installer, complete a simple installation procedure, and you’ll be ready to go.

Linux Reader has an interface that looks a lot like Windows Explorer. And that is a good thing! Since you’re familiar with Windows Explorer, and since Linux Reader’s interface looks like Windows Explorer, you’ll immediately feel at home. It must be mentioned here that the interface can be customized. Go to the View menu to choose what elements are displayed on the interface.

Linux Reader provides support for multiple Windows files systems: NTFS, FAT, exFAT.

Linux Reader provides support for files of any size.

Linux Reader is free software. DiskInternals offers it for the great price of free.

You can use Linux Reader’s Explorer-like interface to access Linux-formatted drives from your Windows PC. That is, in a nutshell, what you can do with this DiskInternals product.

Cons

None that I could think of.
